Barb Choit

Barb Choit is an articled student completing a secondment at Mines & Company. Ms. Choit will be called to the British Columbia Bar in May 2026

Before joining the firm, Ms. Choit began her articles at another leading criminal law boutique in downtown Vancouver. During the summer between her second and third year of law school, Ms. Choit worked as a temporary articling student, representing the Ministry of Children and Family in child protection litigation.

Ms. Choit earned her Juris Doctor from the Allard School of Law (UBC) in 2025, where she was recognized for academic excellence. Ms. Choit received the Bruce McColl Memorial Prize in Alternate Dispute Resolution and the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Entrance Scholarship. In her third year, Ms. Choit interned at the British Columbia Provincial Court, conducting legal research for several judges.

Before attending Allard, Ms. Choit was a professional visual artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University, a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts, and a Master of Arts from Columbia University.
